Territory , be and is hereby declared to be the adopted son of Manuel de Jesus Hurtado and Maria Damiana Ji ron , residents of said county , and as such is entitled to inherit of their property , possessions and fortune , as well as the rights and privileges of any forced heir or legiti mate child of the said Manuel de Jesus Hurtado and Ma ria Damiana Jiron , and shall henceforth be deemed a le gitimate child of said parties .

§ 2. That all laws in conflict with this act are hereby declared repealed , and this act shall be in force from and after its passage .

CHAPTER XV .

AN ACT providing means for the completion of the

monument .

Whereas the Legislative Assembly of the Territory of New Mexico at the session of 1866-67 passed an act ap propriating one thousand five hundred dollars out of the territorial treasury for the erection of a monument in .commemoration of those who fell in defence of the Terri tory of New Mexico ; and

Whereas the said act does not prescribe any instruc tions for the erection of the said monument by the com missioners and contractor or workmen ; and

Whereas the money su appropriated has been experelem ed , and the monument remains unfinished ; and
